Have you ever looked at a situation, a relationship, or maybe even a dream... and thought:
. . .
”Man, there’s no way I can do that.” ⚠️ - - - - - - -Then, we experience the dreaded... “well, it’s too difficult ... it’s impossible.. so why bother?” I’ve noticed lately that it is not always what others tell us about our dreams that discourages us, but what we tell ourselves. We automatically say “no” to ourselves - to difficult opportunities. This makes me so sad.

I shared a day of hiking at 📍Bua Tong Waterfalls (Nam Phu Chet Si)
today with a lovely group of Brits who I room with at my hostel. We were pondering during the ride over why the falls were nicknamed “Sticky Falls”. 🏞
. . .
It turns out these waterfalls can be climbed! There is enough traction on the rocks for feet to move up. We all walked down the wooden (albeit muddy) stairs down and looked up at two different waterfalls - one with smaller rocks than the other. We asked others who had climbed who told us to beware of slippery spots.

.
After the initial photos & good fun, we looked back at our challenge. None of us beamed with confidence. We were all apprehensive about this new found adventure. 🙈😰 . . .
How could something who looked so beautiful feel so insurmountable? ⛰
. .
.
The good news is we carried on. 🏃🏻‍♀️ We worked through the doubt. We said our prayers. We kept looking up to where we were going instead of down to where we had come from.
. . .
And boy was it worth the effort & the perseverance. Together we celebrated at the top, and wondered at the ease (although there were rough patches) of the climb.
We looked down at all we had accomplished - not at our shortcomings.
. . .
Likewise, in our lives we waste precious time in apprehensive contemplation. Instead of looking up - and forward - at what we can achieve, we look down at our failures. If we concentrate on our failures and our fears of failure, we will not be able to progress in a healthy way. We will miss out on opportunities that may have benefitted us.

Give life a try. It may surprise you. ✨🌈
