A DIFFERENT KIND OF INCONVENIENT TRUTH: ⏩ Me entristeze saber que existen varias veces que la gente solamente reaccióna de su propia conveniencia... |✨
It saddens me to know that many times people just act out of their convenience - because going out of their way is inconvenient for them. What would happen if instead of doing the convenient thing, we did the inconvenient thing? What if we offered to show someone the way to the right gate at Port Authority instead of rushing to our own gate when the bus isn't even there yet? 🚎 What if we offered a friend a ride who lives far from us, or if we decided that instead of watching an Open match or a wrestling game we'd use that time to visit someone or call someone we haven't seen in awhile? What if we used our paycheck we've been anxiously awaiting and planning for use towards an iPhone 7, or for a Labor Day Sale splurge, or for a vacation... for a meal for the homeless person we walk by every day, every week, every month? And trust that God will provide the difference? 💵
I'm not saying spend the money you don't have, or use the money you need for necessities like food and rent differently... but there is a fine line between being there for others and being there for yourself. Open yourself to tithing... because after all, who do you worship? God or money? I'm not saying use from your paycheck radically differently, or take out of your savings, or don't hustle (because God knows I do for every penny), but maybe there is a % in there for tithing, or $ left over if you budget effectively every month.
🔢🖊Keep a journal. File your paperwork. Hire an accountant or a financial advisor (I recommend a Dave Ramsey SmartVestor personally but shop around) -- the investment will be worth in and you will feel secure and OK when you spend money - instead of in fear that you'll go broke, or you are broke, or are being frivolous. A % that can go towards rebuilding the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, and housing the victims. A % that can go to someone you walked past yesterday. A % can go to a cause you're passionate about, or to a child in a country that's not as fortunate as we are in the US.
✨Open your frame of mind - think about doing the inconvenient thing.
